The Nashville Philharmonic Flute Ensemble was founded in 2005 under the direction of Tara Rogers. Carolyn Treybig, flute instructor at Belmont and Lipscomb Universities, assumed the directorship in 2008. The ensemble is a community group consisting of very talented amateur musicians who devote their Monday evenings to rehearsals and offer free performances to the public in various settings in December and May. The ensemble performs original compositions for flute ensemble as well as transcriptions of popular classical music featuring the entire flute family (piccolo, flute,
alto flute, bass flute). No registration is necessary for this free concert.
